THAI
MASSAGE:
Thai massage is a type of massage in Thai
style that involves stretching and deep
massage. This form of bodywork is usually
performed on the floor, and the client
wears comfortable clothes that allow for
movement. No oils are used in Thai massage.
It is known in Thailand as "nuat
phaen boran", literally, the ancient-manner
massage; or just "nuat phaen thai".
Thai massage originated in India and is
based on Ayurveda and Yoga. It was believed
that the massage art was brought over
to Thailand by Shivago Komarpaj over 2500
years ago. Thai massage is more energizing
and rigorous than more classic forms of
massage.
Thai massage is also called Thai yoga
massage, because the therapist uses his
or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to
move you into a series of yoga-like stretches.
Many people say Thai massage is like doing
yoga without any work.
